Tip #1

Summon your terminal from anywhere

4 clicks. Saves thousands of Cmd+Tab cycles.

Do this now

  1. Open iTerm → Cmd+, (Settings)
  2. Click Keys → Hotkey
  3. Check "Show/hide all windows with a system-wide hotkey"
  4. Set your hotkey (try Ctrl+\)

You have 20 Chrome tabs and 10 terminal tabs open. You click an artifact link, read it, and now you need to get back to the terminal session you were just in. Cmd+Tab gets you to iTerm but not the right tab. You're lost.

iTerm has a system-wide hotkey that summons all your terminal windows instantly from any app — Chrome, Figma, Slack, wherever. Press it again and they vanish, putting you right back where you were.

This isn't a new window. It's a toggle. Your terminal is always one keystroke away.
